Real change doesn’t start with a campaign, it starts with understanding people’s lives well enough to change them. Max Media partnered with Solar Foods to introduce solar-powered food drying technology to farming communities in Kassala, through an initiative built on research, education, and trust. The goal was simple to say and hard to do: reduce post-harvest losses by helping farmers see — and adopt — a better way of drying their food.

What We Delivered

  • Conducted field research across 11 localities in Kassala to understand farmers’ needs, challenges, and existing drying practices
  • Developed culturally relevant educational materials and an Arabic training curriculum to support knowledge sharing and technology adoption
  • Planned and delivered awareness sessions that brought farmers and local communities into the conversation
  • Designed and produced printed materials and branded educational kits to support campaign activities on the ground
  • Helped turn awareness into action — enabling more than 150 farmers to access free drying services, processing over 30 tons of onions
